PERSISTENT
per·sist·ent
adjective
1.  continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
2. continuing to exist or endure over a prolonged period.

As I read that definition I can think of no greater example than to share the story of my dear friend Terry Hitchcock. Some of you my recognize the name especially if you are a runner. You see in 1996 at the age of 56 Terry took on the impossible. A run from Minneapolis, MN to Atlanta GA for the openings of the Olympics. Running a marathon + a day for 75 consecutive days. WOW. To this day NO one has attempted a run of this magnitude.

I will persistent and I will succeed

Terry took on the quest to run to raise awareness for the struggle of single parents. You see Terry lost his  first wife to Breast cancer. He was thrown from Corporate president to stay at home dad. Did not now how to cook, clean, or take care of his three young children. But HE DID IT!  He was motivated. He had a purpose and nothing was going to stop him. He had never run before and trained for just 6 months prior to the run. I invite you to watch the movie trailer below that was created for his award winning documentary called MY RUN. You can also learn more about terry at his web site.

Terry is an Author, prolific speaker, motivator and business leader. He believes we all can be our own hero and be someone else’s hero. In 2014 Terry Ran across the Mohave desert a 600 mile Odyssey after losing his second wife to cancer in 2012. Today Terry lives in Florida is newly married and celebrating life each day with the utmost PERSISTENCE.

Thank you for a very inspiring post… it certainly shows how life’s challenges although not welcome at the time force us to dig deep… overcome… find the beauty within… and help others in the process 🙂
